In the 10,000 meters, he won two Olympic gold medals and four World Championship crowns. He won the Berlin Marathon four times in a row and the Dubai Marathon three times in a row.
He also won four world titles indoors and was the World Half Marathon Champion in 2001. Haile won important competitions across distances ranging from 1500 meters to the marathon while transitioning from outdoor, indoor, and cross country running to road racing.
