A game for those in a love relationship

A good sense of humor is desirable. A lot of research from many cultures demonstrates that being amusing makes you more attractive to potential partners, particularly if you’re a man. But how much of a part does humor play once the initial wooing is finished and you are in a love relationship? Positive humor, such as using it to brighten up your date, can improve the satisfaction of a dating couple’s relationship. On the other hand, aggressive humor—teasing and making fun of your partner—has the opposite impact. Depending on how each couple uses humor, these sensations can change day to day. Couples in long-term relationships, like marriages, typically have a similar sense of humor, yet this is not a predictor of longer marriages or higher levels of marital happiness. It may come as no surprise that the research that led to this discovery also discovered that couples with fewer children laugh more than couples with more children. A hilarious partner makes both husbands and wives happier, according to a different study that involved 3,000 married couples from five different nations. However, the wives were shown to value humor more than the husbands did when it came to their marital pleasure.
