The new government of Addis Ababa City was created on Tuesday. Adanech Abeie, who served as interim mayor under the previous government, has been sworn in as the next mayor of the city.
For the next five years, she will be in charge of the administration.
She promised to do work that takes into account and celebrates the City’s greatness. The African Union and a number of other international organizations have their headquarters in Addis Ababa.
She also revealed the members of her administration’s cabinet and senior officials.
The mayor is one of 46 executive members and 25 cabinet members in the cabinet.
Adanech Abiebie encountered legitimacy concerns when she was nominated as acting mayor by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, as her appointment appeared to have rad.
