“He was the most respecting person I have ever known..” comedian Dereje

Growing up with respect from significant people in our lives teaches us how to treat others with courtesy. Respect means accepting someone for who they are, even if they are different from you or have different opinions than you. Respect enhances feelings of safety, security, and wellbeing in your relationships. Respect can be learned; it doesn’t have to come naturally. One piece of the puzzle is showing others respect. Additionally, it’s critical to respect oneself. Keep in mind that you are important and valued. Your thoughts and feelings are just as significant as those of others. One way to respect oneself is to end a relationship that isn’t respectful. When someone else is speaking, show them respect by listening to what they have to say and giving it some thought before you respond, form an opinion, or reject it. Although it is perfectly acceptable for your girl to disagree with what is being said, she should wait her turn, pay attention, and refrain from drawing unwarranted conclusions. You never know; something someone says might shock her! Talk to your girl about the possible emotions she might experience if someone rolled their eyes at one of her ideas or spoke over her while she was trying to speak, such as anger, sadness, or even embarrassment. If she heard someone making fun of her or calling her names, it might make things worse. She should try her best to prevent others from experiencing the same emotions because she doesn’t want to.
