How to curl your hair with only hair grease

Curling your hair with just hair grease can be a bit challenging as hair grease alone may not provide enough hold to create long-lasting curls. However, if you want to try it out, here’s a method you can follow:

Note: This method is more suitable for individuals with natural hair or hair that has some natural texture. If you have straight hair, you might not achieve significant curls with hair grease alone.

Materials you’ll need:

  1. Hair grease or heavy hair oil (preferably one with some hold)
  2. Hairbrush or comb
  3. Hair ties or clips
  4. Hair spray (optional, for additional hold)

Step-by-step process:

  1. Start with clean, dry hair: Wash and condition your hair, then let it air dry or use a blow dryer to dry it completely.
  2. Divide your hair into sections: Use hair ties or clips to separate your hair into manageable sections. Smaller sections will create tighter curls, while larger sections will give you looser waves.
  3. Apply hair grease: Take a small amount of hair grease or oil in your hands and rub it between your palms to warm it up. Apply the grease evenly to one section of hair, making sure to coat the strands from root to tip.
  4. Finger coil or twist the hair: For tighter curls, take small sections of hair and wrap them around your finger to create finger coils. Hold the ends of the hair in place for a few seconds to encourage the curl to set. Alternatively, you can twist the hair to create more defined waves.
  5. Repeat on all sections: Apply hair grease and finger coil or twist each section of hair until your entire head is done.
  6. Let the curls set: Allow the curls to set for a while. You can either let your hair air dry, or if you need the curls to set faster, you can use a hairdryer on low heat.
  7. Optional: Apply hairspray for additional hold. This will help the curls last longer.
