The most expensive type of human hair weave is virgin hair. Because it is 100 percent pure and has not been chemically processed, it lasts longer than other forms of human hair. It was obtained from a single donor. Another distinguishing feature of virgin hair is that its cuticles are all intact and running in the same direction. Remy hair is made entirely of human hair. The cuticle of high-quality remy hair will be intact, although it may have gone through stain processing, even if it hasn’t been coloured or permed. It requires more maintenance than typical 100% human hair and can be coloured. When purchasing human hair weaves, you should always be cautious because the hair industry is unregulated, and some manufacturers will label hair that does not meet the above criteria as Remy. The cuticle of human hair weaves labeled as 100 percent human hair is chemically removed (this is what differentiates it from Remy hair). They do this so that it can be processed by machines. However, this causes brittleness, tangling, matting, and dryness, which is a concern when the cuticle is stripped. There are no heat resistant fibers or synthetic fibers in the 100% human hair weaves. This hair lasts for a long period, but not as long as Remy hair.
