On Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, Lattimore, who was born without a right leg and has a partial left leg, defeated Lake Braddock’s Korlan Tran 5-1 to win the Class 6 wrestling championship at 106 pounds. “I’ve been dreaming about this since I learned what it was, and it’s just… I don’t know how to explain it,” Lattimore added. “Really, if you work hard enough, you can accomplish anything, including winning a state championship without having legs.” During his senior year, Lattimore went 32-7 and won his first state championship, capping his high school career. He finished second in the Region A event last week, losing in the final against Ian Arnett of Kellam.
