A day spent with the blind circuit tester. A dealer designated as a circuit tester has some familiarity with the electrical wiring of structures, transmission lines, stationary machinery, and similar equipment. Circuit testers can be used to maintain and repair an existing electrical system as well as to install new electrical components. Circuit testers may spend a significant amount of time wiring boats, planes, and other portable stages in addition to wiring information and connection lines. Apprentice, journeyman, and master electrician are the three different levels of electrical proficiency. In the US and Canada, undergraduates work and make less money while pursuing their careers. Typically, they require a few hundred hours of homeroom instruction and must adhere to apprenticeship rules for three to six years, during which time they are paid at a rate comparable to the Journeyman’s wage. Circuit testers who have finished their apprenticeship and been given the go-ahead for employment by a municipal, state, or federal licensing body are known as understudies. Expert electricians have often excelled in the market for seven to ten years and have successfully passed a test to demonstrate a high degree of expertise on the National Electrical Code, or NEC.
