Depending on the type of skin a person has, their pores may be larger or less prominent. Using water-based skin care products is one of the DIY solutions that can help reduce the appearance of big pores. Two categories of pores exist. Sweat is released by one, and sebum—the body’s natural oil—is released by the other. The pores that release oil may occasionally appear larger. Large pores cannot be eliminated, however they can be made to appear less noticeable by using products with water in them, wearing clay masks, and limiting sun exposure. Large pores might not be completely gone, but there are techniques to make them appear smaller, such as maintaining elastic skin and preventing clogged pores. Oils are among the active substances included in moisturizing products. Products rich in humectants, as opposed to oils, are better for people with oily skin. Humectants, such as honey and urea, are found in skin care products. Products with an oil base may include petroleum, coconut oil, and other types of oil. Although they successfully hydrate the skin, persons with wide pores and oily skin may find them unsuitable. The buildup of extra oil on the skin can give the appearance of bigger pores. Makeup, oil, and bacteria can accumulate in the pores when makeup is worn overnight, leading to blockage.
