It can be difficult to prioritise yourself in the hustle-driven environment we live in today, especially given the recent period of widespread hardship. You may be coping by pushing yourself to the point of burnout if you are accustomed to equating your value with your productivity, for example. Or you might feel completely numbed out and locked down, unsure of how to access your emotions. There’s a reason why you’re instructed to put your own oxygen mask on before aiding anyone else when you’re flying. When you don’t take care of yourself first, you can’t give anything to anyone else! It is possible to feel more at ease and resilient by taking your time to show yourself love, care, and compassion. It should be impossible to compromise on taking care of oneself. You will gain by doing this, as well as the environment. I came to the conclusion that until I change, nothing else will. You may express yourself more fully in the world, increase your creativity, and feed your inner artist by practising self-love and self-care. Creativity doesn’t exist in a vacuum; everything you do to improve your life has an impact on other people and all aspects of it. What does this entail, then? Offering ourselves love and care in all areas of our lives is a pretty basic definition of self-love and self-care. However, those of us who didn’t grow up may find that confusing in practise.
