The 5 year old girl who saw heaven

Do you believe in the existence of heaven? According to Colton Burpo and the small Lithuanian girl who painted Jesus in the film Heaven is for Real, it is! According to her memoirs Akiane, Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry, Akiane Kramarik, a child art prodigy, began creating stunning, lifelike paintings of Jesus at a very young age. Her most notable artwork to date is “Prince of Peace,” an amazing painting of Jesus that she did when she was just eight years old. Colton Burpo described this image of Jesus as the Real Face of Jesus that he recognized from his heavenly experiences – a story that has echoed throughout the world as a result of the popular book and subsequent film, Heaven is for Real. Visions, which are similar to dreams, must often be recorded in order to best retain the experience; otherwise, clarity can be lost. Journaling, sketching, and painting are tried and true methods for capturing dreams and visions. When we look at a vision-inspired painting, such as “Prince of Peace” (Jesus’ Heaven is for Real painting), we get a glimpse of what the artist saw and chose to capture, in words or with paint. In the now-famous CNN program about Akiane, she describes her second painting of Jesus, “Father Forgive Them,” as “a bow of light – incredibly pure, really masculine, really strong and large… His eyes are really stunning.”
Yes! In fact, Colton Burpo, whose narrative is featured in the Heaven is for Real books and movie, affirmed that Jesus appears just like Akiane has depicted Him in her paintings. In fact, Akiane’s “Prince of Peace” artwork is also known as the Heaven is for Real Jesus painting.
