There were time I regretted playing
She was the only female football player in her neighborhood and the third child in her family. Loza began playing football at the age of six and used to play with teams that were primarily made up of men, both in school games and neighborhood games in her town of Durame. She represented the SNNP regional state at the All Ethiopian Games in 2011, where she scored seven goals, giving her the initial push to catch the attention of recruiters for the Ethiopian Woman National Team. In 2012, Abera joined Hawassa City S.C. Women, her first professional organization. She stayed at the club for two seasons, scoring the most goals for the team both seasons as they finished in third place in the league. She scored 10 goals in the playoffs to cap off her 47 goals overall during the 2015–16 EWPL season. She made a commitment to herself that she would complete high school despite hefty offers from numerous teams. She did so while also signing contracts from the region and continuing on to the Addis-Abeba University School of Commerce. Abera holds the league record for most goals ever scored with more over 200 after six seasons of EWPL play. She signed a contract with Nigd Bank of the Ethiopian Women’s Premier League in November 2020.
