these behaviors are pushing men away
There are a few recurring seasons in life that increase the amount of emphasis and awareness placed on the status of your relationship. Valentine’s Day is the most blatant, with love adorning every inch of marketing (or anti-love, which still puts just as much pressure on). Christmas and birthdays are two other occasions when the presence of others makes you wonder if you have a bae to call your own. New Year’s Eve, significant events and accomplishments, and seasonal changes can all be stabs in the heart when it comes to a stalled love life. If you’re reading this, it’s probable that one of those seasons is grating on your nerves, or that you know someone who is. I frequently hear from women who are dissatisfied with the lack of nice men in their lives. I’d say at least once a week, if not more. It’s something I’ve written about a few times before. I get where you’re coming from with your dissatisfaction. Some men do horrific things that taint masculinity, to the point where they push you away from males entirely. You try to put yourself out there sometimes, but it seems like no one is interested. And if they’re interested, they’re the wrong kind of guy, the one who will break your heart and rip your self-esteem apart once more.
