According to the Ethiopian Herald, breast cancer is overtaking cervical cancer as the most common malignancy among Ethiopian women. According to the publication, Dr. Bogale Solomon, a cancer expert and member of the Ethiopian Medical Association, “young Ethiopian ladies are becoming victims of the disease.”
Breast cancer is caused by a variety of factors, including the age at which a child is born, unhealthy eating habits, particularly those connected to meat intake, a lack of physical activity, excessive alcohol use, women’s lifestyles, and the length of time they work. In Addis Ababa, for example, breast cancer is rapidly spreading.
Cervical cancer used to affect a greater number of Ethiopian women.
