Born in 1980, Mariam Nabatanzi Babirye—also referred to as Maama Uganda or Mother Uganda—is a well-known Ugandan lady who gave birth to 44 children, 38 of whom are now living. Her youngest kid was six years old, and her eldest was thirty-one, as of April 2023. Her spouse allegedly couldn’t support so many kids, so he left the family in 2015. Babirye, who was compelled into marriage the year before, gave birth for the first time at the age of 13 after being born somewhere in 1980. She had given birth to fifteen children by the time she was thirty-six years old, consisting of three sets of quadruplets, four sets of triplets, and six pairs of twins. Three days after Babirye’s birth, her mother allegedly left her family and her five brothers. she gave birth to twins at the age of 13, triplets two years later, and then a pair of quadruplets a year and a half later when her father-in-law gave her family a plot of land so they could support themselves. Given how frequent multiple births were in her family, she did not find this strange.
