They don’t believe I am an Ethiopian

Tsege Duguma is an Ethiopian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800 meters. She has gained recognition for her performances on the track, representing Ethiopia in various international competitions. Known for her speed and endurance, Tsege has competed in numerous events, showcasing her talent and contributing to Ethiopia’s rich history in middle-distance running. Her dedication and achievements in athletics have made her a notable figure in the sport. In the 200 meters, she won a silver medal in the Algerian 2017 African U20 Athletics Championships. She won the 400-meter national indoor championship for Ethiopia in March 2022 in Hawassa. She broke the 2-minute mark in July 2023, setting a new personal best in the 800 meters with a run of 1:59.40 in Belgium. She finished first in the 800-meter race in Belgrade in February 2024, clocking in at 1:59.66. She took home the gold in the women’s 800 meters in the Glasgow 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships. She had earlier run a personal best time of 1:58.35 to win her semi-final and won her qualifying heat in 2:00.50.
