Looking toward a positive and powerful role model is helpful during times in our lives, particularly in our adolescent years when we are striving to identify ourselves. You can incorporate the beneficial behaviors of the person you look up to into your own life by modeling them after them. We may observe how others live and get insight from their failures and accomplishments when we have role models. One thing a fool never learns from his own mistakes, according to my mother. I’ve always been fast to pick up on other people’s mistakes and steer clear of such traps, believing that “the wise man learns from the mistakes of others.” Some people have certain interests; some enjoy reading, others enjoy the arts. As for me, I’ve always enjoyed studying and jumped at the chance to pick up new knowledge and abilities. Science, language arts, and physical education have always been three of my favorite subjects in school, and they continue to be so in my employment, interests, and loves. I like the variety of challenges each course offered, as well as how simple it was for me to understand them. My post-secondary degrees in science, business, and education also coincide with and reflect my interests. Before the Internet, I lived in a small town where my only access to role models was local television.
