A petrified fetus was discovered in the uterus of an elderly woman who claims she was unaware she was pregnant, according to medical professionals in the small Chilean town of La Boca. Estela Meléndez, 91, claims that she has been carrying a fetus for many years, although she was unaware of its presence. It’s been in her uterus for more than 60 years, according to the doctors. The mom is not at risk for health problems because the fetus is calcified. Meléndez has trouble hearing, and arthritis has recently caused her walk to slow down. Other than that, she’s doing great. She lives in La Boca, a village in the municipality of Navidad that is situated where the Rapel River and the Pacific Ocean converge. It wasn’t until after she recently had a fall that medical professionals saw anything concerning on her X-ray. My doctor informed me that I had a tumor and that I would require surgery. Upon ordering a second X-ray for confirmation, however, the doctors were astounded by what they saw. It turned out that the mass they were examining was a fetus rather than a malignancy. Meléndez touches her stomach and adds, “I have the lump here.” The discovery has come as a significant shock to the elderly woman and her family. Manuel González, Meléndez’s spouse of 74 years, passed away in January at the age of 91. In the seaside town, González was a boater and fisherman.
